Our Landscape Village-Looking At Gudeok Reservoir

Getting off a bus at Flower Village we can meet grassy and thick forest and a great pond located under a spacious parking lot, and our hearts are filled with this beautiful scenery. The scenery spread out in the village called 'Flower Village' is really an art of wonderful painting. Gudeok reservoir located at the foot of Gudeok mountain has a fine drawing. This place that now we can enjoy the sunlight glittering on the waves to the fullest was the only reservoir for drinking water source in Busan. During the time of 1900 to 1920, when the reservoir was built, Japanese residents were increasing and Busan city was developing as a commercial, industrial port. And as the necessity of water supply came to the forest, a one meter high-dam was built at the valley near Gudeok Tunnel. and a drainage of 20m high 5m wide was constructed. And it is said to have been produced 2000㎡ of water a day by controlling water level. This area was first opened to the public in 1968 Naktong river when it became the water supply source of Busan Metropolitan City. But the area isn't as it used to be. As the open of Gudeok tunnel this area was changed again. Though we cannot fine the old form of Gudeok reservoir, we can still feels of its old mood by seeing the area under the Flower Village and remaining a small pond at the back of Dong-A University. The surroundings of Gudeok reservoir had changed immediately. We can enjoy walking around the lake full of various trees, plants and flowers with safety for the wooden rail. Plantain lilies and lotuses at the edge of the lake make it a beautiful scene, in addition, fountains spouting in the pond refreshing our mind and body. The landscape of the area have changed in every seasons. In spring, azaleas are in full bloom around the pond, in summer, cool forests are spread out, and there is the mood of autumn mood falling leaves and the mood of winter we can enjoy the sunlight glittering on the waves tranquility. All these we can feel here in the pond. This is not the only reason for the area to become the resting place for the citizens. In fact, we have many culture spaces and exercise facilities helping to keep the health of our climbers walking through the woods. There are also many pleasant space in the neighbourhood such as cultural park, educational history museum, folk living museum, wood and stone horticultural center, and Gudeok youth training center. Gudeok catchment area is the place for us to enjoy the affluence of nature. It gives a freedom of our children in playing to the fullest, adults relaxation for a short time. Let's go to the nature right now. there is definitely a way to enjoy the affluence of nature and relaxation in the center of city is near even though don't go far away to the downtown. Watching the floating sunlight on the pond, you can feel that your mind and body are much more refreshed.
